We have multiple openings for Technical Coordinators supporting a team of Building Coordinators with office and computer moves, Vault-Type Rooms (VTR), conference rooms and other daily assignments in support of National Ignition Facility (NIF) managed areas.  You will independently perform critical functions such as maintaining supply rooms and equipment to meet program and/or project schedules. You will also support the Logistics Organization within the National Ignition Facility & Photon Science (NIF&PS) Directorate.  These positions are in the Laser Systems Engineering and Operations (LSEO) Division, within the Engineering Directorate.
Essential Duties
- Provide general coordination support on multiple large and small technical projects in collaboration with scientists, designers, technicians, engineers, internal organizations, external suppliers, and vendors. Submit service requests on an as needed basis.
- Coordinate and track multiple projects with frequently changing requirements and priorities while maintaining appropriate records and summaries to support project needs.
- Coordinate aspects of office space including office moves, maintaining rosters and directories, phone moves, office name plates, housekeeping, furniture moves and setup. Excessing items to the Donation, Utilization, & Sales (DUS) yard, wood yard.
- Arrange maintenance and repairs for multiple model vehicles and report mileage to NIF Property.
- Responsible for ensuring Division and Program activities, including furniture and equipment arrangements and setups through completion while adhering to local and Department of Energy (DOE) policies for multiple conferences and meetings in various locations. 
- Support common print/copy rooms coordinating supplies, meter reads, repairs, and copier meter reads for equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience in an engineering or related field.
- Intermediate experience supporting facility management including coordinating projects and knowledge of associated policies and procedures.
- Experience working within a customer service capacity and/or providing support to organizations with proven ability to interact with a diverse and demanding customer base.
- Experience working independently and as a team member on well understood tasks including effective problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while meeting specific programmatic technical and reporting requirements.
- Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills, and the interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various levels of a diverse workforce (includes programmatic staff, leadership, safety, and security) including communication skills needed to work with vendors.
- Intermediate knowledge of and experience with office computer software, common operating systems, and common word processing, spreadsheet, and databases.
- Ability to become Radiological Worker I qualified, lift up to 25 lbs., and secure loads.
 Desired Qualifications
- Experience with inventory control knowledge with Glovia and LINCS.
- Prior warehouse experience.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.  This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance:  This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.  Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.  If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.

Note:   This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
