We have an opening for a recent bachelor’s degree graduate within one year, for an opportunity to engage in practical hands on human resources work to further their educational experience. You will engage in entry to mid-level administrative support to the Scholar Team and will assist other areas as needed. The anticipated start date is in April.
Essential Duties
- Assist scholar employment with a high volume of preparation of student hire process; submit Post-Offer Security (POS) forms, create offer letters, and document data into various databases and in email.
- Assist with various processes to bring in summer interns (e.g. Summer Intern listserv, GoogleGroup for Lab Interns, etc.).
- Assist with workshops, receptions, Meet the Director Briefing and the Student Poster Symposium event planning.
- Assist the Visiting Scientist Program (VSP) and Academic Cooperation Program (ACP) by creating acknowledgment letters and sending customized emails as needed to the VSPs and ACPs.
- Prepare ACP and VSP files to send to Records and/or storage.  
- Perform other duties as needed.
 - Must be a recent bachelors level graduate within one year in human resources or related field.
- Experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with Microsoft applications for the PC.
- Ability to apply basic human resources principles to understand related problems.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.  This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance:  None required.

However, if your assignment is longer than 179 days cumulatively within a calendar year, you must go through the Personal Identity Verification process.  This process includes completing an online background investigation form and receiving approval of the background check.  (This process does not apply to foreign nationals.)
