We have an opening for a TESA Coordinator to support the National Ignition Facility and Photon Science (NIF & PS) Directorate Lock, Key and TESA Program.  You will provide basic administrative oversight to lock, key and TESA requirements for NIF facilities.  NIF is a 24/7 operational laser and optics facility and may occasionally require shift flexibility including overtime and/or weekend work as needed to accomplish goals.  Some work will occur in radiological environments. This position is in the Laser Systems Engineering and Operations (LSEO) Division, within the Engineering Directorate.

Essential Duties
- Provide basic coordination support to scientific, engineering, and technical personnel through basic technical and administrative knowledge relating to the NIF Lock, Key and TESA Program.
- Provide guidance using established guidelines on security requirements and policies.
- Verify access and compliance requirements while also maintaining updated access authorization lists including requesting, issuing and maintaining locks and keys access in accordance with policy.
- Maintain accurate level I, II and III key and core custodian records as well as locking plan records in accordance with policy.
- Submit service requests to LLNL Locks, Keys and TESA Group as needed.
- Update and obtain records for all TESA locks under your jurisdiction and load into the TESA Server.
- Manage, maintain and perform required inventories for all accountable locks, keys and TESA locks under their jurisdiction.   
- Provide detailed status to supervisor and customers/requesters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Associate degree in mechanical, electronics, electro-optic, or manufacturing technology; or a technology-related certificate with relevant technician or fabrication-shop work experience; or the equivalent combination of education and previous relevant experience.
- Basic understanding of the security lock access process; knowledge of approval, and close-out requirements.
- Basic understanding of quality controls and their importance to the maintenance and operation of a research facility.
- Ability to multitask and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.  This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance:  This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.  Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.  If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.

Note:   This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
