For more than 60 years, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has applied science and technology to make the world a safer place.

We have an opening for a Customer Service Technical Coordinator. You will provide technical coordination and support for the maintenance and repair services based on their requirements for work orders execution. This position is in the Central Facilities & Infrastructure Department.

Essential Duties
-  Initiate, prioritize, coordinate and process Central and Deployed F&I Work Orders for maintenance and repair activities for the Laboratory’s infrastructure.
- Solve basic technical problems and exercise minimal decision making using established guidelines, techniques, and procedures.
- Provide basic technical coordination support for generating, closing and archiving of work orders.
- Review statement of work, verify if permits and/or equipment are identified, and route work orders to appropriate work centers.
- Generate reports and review work order data to ensure all requirements have been met.
- Provide detailed status and results to supervisor, and customer/requestor.
- Respond to routine and emergency requests for service by contacting appropriate personnel, ensuring mechanics are dispatched in a timely manner.
- Comply with ES&H security requirements and LLNL policies and procedures and report any hazards or potential hazards to supervisor.
-  Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
- Associates degree in a related technology area or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Basic knowledge of the relevant technologies, standards, procedures and techniques related to work orders.
- Ability to identify and resolve basic technical problems for clients.
- Experience in a service organization responding to customer needs, requests and issues while utilizing a high degree of discretion, tact, judgment and diplomacy.
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to communicate technical language in non-technical terms.
- Ability to coordinate activities with multiple components requiring attention to detail, accuracy and independent follow-through, with the ability to identify and resolve basic technical problems.
- Ability to work effectively with managers and co-workers, and to form effective partnerships to achieve desired outcomes.
- Experience with personal computers and associated software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database applications.

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of LLNL’s Work Order system.
- Knowledge of the function and operation of the Central F&I and Deployed Team Departments.
- Experience working in a construction and maintenance environment.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
 

Security Clearance:  This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) L-level clearance.

If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.  In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.  L-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.  If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.

Note:   This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
