We have an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Staff Member to work in the area of nanofluidics working with a team that is studying molecular transport in carbon nanotube porins; a novel class of biomimetic nanofluidic channels that mimic the structure of biological ion channels and have exceptional transport characteristics. You will conduct experiments aimed at determining and controlling the transport mechanism of functionalized nanotube porins incorporated in lipid vesicles, solid-state nanopores, and other complex artificial structures. This position is in the Biosciences and Biotechnology Division.

Essential Duties
- Conduct research in biophysics, bioengineering, surface science, or related fields.
- Conduct work with nanomaterial analogs of biological molecules and integrate them into synthetic membrane systems.
- Design and develop research projects focused on addressing defined problems.
- Present formal and informal overviews of progress in experimental work at weekly meetings.
- Publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals and present results at external conferences seminars and/or technical meetings.
- Maintain and establish laboratory protocols, an accurate and detailed laboratory notebook including complete records of experiments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Recent PhD in BioPhysics, Physics, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
