For more than 60 years, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has applied science and technology to make the world a safer place.

We have an opening for a Business Operations Specialist to support the Work Planning and Control (WP&C) Functional Area Management (FAM) Office. You will develop business processes for the newly implemented WP&C program to ensure compliance with complex requirements to sustain the long-term viability of the program. This position is in the Work Planning & Control (WP&C) Functional Area Management (FAM) Office.

Essential Duties
- Define, develop, and implement business processes/workflows for the WP&C FAM Office to include the help desk, training program administration, document and record management, and assist with making enhancements for continual improvement to the WP&C Tool to ensure process/workflow effectiveness.
- Develop processes and procedures required to establish and maintain the WP&C Office as a teaching organization and administer the WP&C training and qualification programs, annual maintenance of competencies, and a formal change control process.
- Establish and administer a document control and records management system, including a transaction flow for various types of documents, utilizing the WP&C Tool and/or the institutional document content management system as the repository.
- Develop and maintain a robust commitment tracking system, lead regular meetings to identify commitments and actions, update status, identify obstacles to completion, and track to closure.
- Responsible for providing daily priorities and assignments, mentoring, and assisting with career development of the Office Administrative Specialist.
- Oversee and monitor the WP&C Help Desk’s provision of technical and functional support to the user community including triaging incoming tickets, resolving and/or routing issues to the appropriate developer, ensuring calls/requests are correctly categorized for analysis, providing routine updates to FAM Office staff, and tracking issues to closure.
- Guide the Office Administrative Specialist in maintaining the WP&C FAM Office website, ensuring content is routinely reviewed and aligns with rapidly evolving business processes and training.
- Coordinate the logistics for internal and external reviews and assessments. Compile data from across directorates to support the assessment requirements in the Joint Management Assessment Plan and Schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Associates Degree in related business field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience developing business processes, identifying data flow, performing data analysis, and applying analytical decision-making skills to determine best path to implementation.
- Experience analyzing a variety of factors to develop solutions for multi-faceted problems or questions from a diverse customer base.
- Experience working independently on multiple highly involved projects with complex compliance requirements, including interpreting requirements, applying project planning skills, managing project schedules, and tracking project deliverables.
- Expert use of MS office applications. Working knowledge of automated business tools/ technologies/techniques and specialized applications.
- Experience developing complex reports for use in management decision making.
- Advanced organizational skills with attention to detail necessary to handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment with frequent interruptions.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of institutional laboratory systems including the WP&C Tool, Facility Activity Schedule, the F&I Work Order Tool, LTRAIN, Electronic Integration Work Sheet (eIWS) System, Universal Content Management (UCM), and Information Management systems.
