For more than 60 years, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has applied science and technology to make the world a safer place.

We have an opening for a Cyber Security Risk Assurance and Policy Analyst to independently and collaboratively perform a wide range of activities associated with cyber security risk and policies. The position is within the Information Technology Solutions Division (ITSD) of the Computation Directorate matrixed to the Cyber Security Program (CSP) within the LivIT Program.

Essential Duties
- Apply National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards and FedRAMP requirements to cyber security assessments using Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Lead the CSP Risk Assessment functions within the umbrella of the CSP RMF.
- Assess and quantify cyber security risks and take appropriate actions.
- Analyze, interpret, and apply cyber security processes, procedures and policies for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with Federal requirements; including advanced development and management of policies, schedule, and coordinated projects; interact with other LLNL organizations (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Safeguards and Security, etc.).to ensure consistency with Cyber Security policy and requirements.
- Develop annual self-assessment plan with CSP, coordinate CSP assessments with the Management Assurance System (MAS) and independently administer self-assessments; create, document, monitor and track issues and corrective action plans in the Institutional Tracking System (ITS) for CSP.
- Create and execute project plans, meetings, metric gathering, and analyze data and prepare reports of results, including researching, analyzing, and interpreting complex data and recommending risk strategies for cyber-related projects.
- Collaborate with organizations, management and customers to provide guidance on policies, requirements, information resources, and development of a common solution.  Coordinate and lead working groups with other organizations, including Programs, Safeguards and Security, LivIT and O&B elements as CSP lead for various institutional and programmatic activities.
- Respond to data calls and external auditors.-Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Computer or Engineering related field or the equivalent combination of education and technical training in a security discipline(s) and related experience.
- Extensive experience assessing and quantifying cyber security risks, utilizing analytical and research skills effectively to develop solutions.
- Comprehensive analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to set priorities and solve complex problems in a fast-paced, customer-focused team environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills necessary to collaborate, negotiate and influence all levels of personnel.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills necessary to collaborate in a team environment and document, present and explain technical information.
- Experience leading technical projects with a broad scope or multiple teams, demonstrated project management skills and the ability to assume responsibility with minimal instructions and supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to effectively handle multiple technical tasks with conflicting priorities to implement research concepts in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Exercise independent judgement to define, develop, and implement original solutions to complex technical problems of a broad and diverse scope at the team, directorate, or institutional level.

Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field.
- Knowledge of cyber security risk management requirements.
- Knowledge of LLNL’s Cyber Security policies, processes and requirements.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.  This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance:  This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.  Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.  If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.

Note:   This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
