For more than 60 years, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has applied science and technology to make the world a safer place.

We have an opening for a Compliance Coordinator to support document configuration management in the Superblock (SBK) facilities. You will navigate a complex matrix of federal and institutional regulations and requirements to evaluate and coordinate the development of comprehensive procedures and operational documents. This position is in the Nuclear and Hazardous Operations Program.

Essential Duties
- Analyze and implement documentation processes, procedures and practices to ensure activities within the SBK are performed in compliance with requirements in federal regulations, institutional procedures, and the facility safety bases.
- Evaluate procedures and process documents to verify facility requirements are adequately implemented, controls identified in the safety basis documents are maintained, and technical and management reviews are conducted.
- Serve as a technical contact for facility documentation processes, procedures, practices, manuals, guidance documents, and related implementation plans.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, facility management, training and hazards control personnel to review, revise, implement and evaluate operational procedures using established change control processes that impact SBK facilities and systems, as well as LLNL programs.
- Monitor document tracking and routing, and ensure revision control using electronic applications (e.g., Enterprise Lifecycle Management-Unclassified [ELM-U]) for configuration management of documents.
- Manage technical information communications and interface with the LLNL programs and facilities personnel related to SBK facility procedures; solicit feedback and facilitate comment resolution.
- Monitor and collect internal performance metrics and provide data reports to the Configuration Management Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Technical Writing or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of technical procedure development and composition.
- Experience interpreting, reviewing and analyzing procedures to determine if the activities they address are performed in compliance with complex regulations and requirements.
- Experience providing direction to authors, researching and gathering subject-related data, assisting with procedure composition, and ensuring that document changes receive appropriate technical and management review.
- Experience coordinating, routing, tracking, and monitoring documents and document revisions using electronic applications (e.g., Windchill).
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to manage scientific and technical communications across multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective interpersonal, leadership and team building skills necessary to clarify issues and resolve problems with tact, discretion, and mature judgment.
- Experience using personal computers and associated software applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to learn new software quickly.

Pre-Employment Drug Test:  External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
 

Security Clearance:  This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.  If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.
